The Use of Hyaluronic Acid in Rhinoplasty

Two (2.8%) patients required a touchup after 15 days, both of them desiring further dorsal correction. A statistically significant improvement was found in all domains of the rhinoplasty module of the FACE-Q and in the overall scores. Supratip break, lobule elongation, and lobulocolumellar angle are addressed with a “retraction–pinching” maneuver.
AI‐based robotic systems are enhancing the precision and safety of aesthetic surgery, particularly for repetitive or detail‐oriented procedures [30]. Similarly, AI‐guided lasers in skin resurfacing dynamically modulate energy levels in real time based on tissue response, optimizing efficacy while protecting surrounding areas [32]. These systems reduce human error, standardize outcomes, and allow surgeons to focus on advanced decision‐making, marrying robotic precision 美版超聲刀 with human creativity to redefine procedural excellence (Figure 3) [34]. Computer‐optimized personalized treatment planning is a break from the past one‐size‐fits‐all approach to hyperindividualized treatment.

The choice of product, its rheology (how it behaves under pressure and movement), and the injection technique all influence the quality and safety of the outcome. Hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers are widely regarded as safe and effective for soft tissue augmentation, including correction of nasolabial folds, wrinkles, lips, and facial contouring. Despite favorable clinical outcomes, long-term durability remains under investigation. When patients wish to correct or adjust lack of projection of the nasal tip, rectification of the back, or deviations of the septum, hyaluronic acid is an excellent alternative to surgical correction. No significant difference in FACE‐Q scores was observed between the two groups receiving HA filler + BTX and barbed threads + BTX at either 1 month or a year posttreatment. Adverse effects were reported by subjects in all three groups 48 h posttreatment and completely resolved by 1 week after treatment.
Liquid rhinoplasty is a non-surgical procedure that uses injectable dermal fillers to reshape your nose. The entire treatment takes about 15 to 30 minutes in our office, and you leave with a reshaped nose. But because your nose is vascular (filled with blood vessels) and close to your eyes, nonsurgical rhinoplasty is more technical and complicated than other dermal filler procedures.

Third, heterogeneity in definitions of “vascular event,” variable follow-up durations, and inconsistent photographic or ultrasound documentation limit cross-study comparability. Collectively, these factors affect both cannula and needle cohorts, cautioning against definitive safety claims. The debate over whether cannulas are safer than needles for filler injections remains a significant topic in aesthetic medicine. This discussion synthesizes findings from recent literature, focusing on the comparative safety profiles and efficacy of these two methods. A consensus is emerging that cannulas generally provide a safer alternative due to their design, which minimizes trauma to vascular structures and reduces the incidence of complications such as bruising and vascular occlusion Table 1. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate safety and patient satisfaction in a series of almost 1000 treatment sessions in consecutive patients receiving nonsurgical rhinoplasty with VYC‐25L.
Reputable clinics prioritise patient safety and offer thorough consultations. During these consultations, discuss your concerns, desired outcomes, and ask any questions. Does your practitioner have extensive experience in facial aesthetics? It is important to note that only trained medical professionals with experience working with hyaluronidase should perform this procedure.
Some patients find that repeated treatments over several years result in a slightly longer-lasting effect as the filler stimulates some collagen production in the treated area. A maintenance appointment at the 12- to 18-month mark restores the result and is a realistic, ongoing cost to factor into your planning. The amount of filler used in non-surgical rhinoplasty is typically 0.5ml to 1.5ml, depending on the degree of correction required. The products used vary between clinics, with premium products such as Juvederm Voluma and the Teosyal RHA range costing more than standard HA fillers.

Prices for the procedure depend on the provider, but the average cost of a non-surgical nose job is typically around $1,000. When performing the procedure, all structures of the nose—including the thicknesses and properties of the skin and soft tissue and the size, shape, and strength of the cartilage and bone—should be taken into account in order to avoid complications. We analyzed the clinical data of 44 patients who underwent nasal filling with hyaluronic acid between December 2016 and July 2017. All patients signed a consent form and were informed about the  procedure.
Radiesse and Bellafill are not easily dissolved, which is why I typically recommend starting with hyaluronic acid if this is your first liquid rhinoplasty. Liquid rhinoplasty is not the right option if you want to make your nose smaller, narrow wide nostrils, fix a deviated septum, or address breathing problems. During your consultation, I will discuss whether liquid rhinoplasty can achieve what you are looking for or whether surgery would serve you better. Compared to surgical rhinoplasty, it is less expensive and has fewer risks and a shorter recovery time.
Siperstein et al.7 discusses the application of a 27-gauge cannula in aesthetic medicine, highlighting its benefits and challenges in their article. The author emphasizes that the use of a 27-gauge cannula can enhance patient safety by reducing the risk of vascular complications and bruising during injectable procedures. He outlines the advantages of this gauge size, including improved precision and reduced discomfort for patients. However, Siperstein also addresses potential drawbacks, such as the need for greater skill and technique when using a cannula compared to traditional needles. The article advocates for proper training and understanding of anatomical considerations to maximize the efficacy and safety of cannula use in aesthetic practices (Level IV).

We acknowledge the statistical population imbalance observed in this study, which arose due to the natural distribution of patients during the data collection period. Additionally, threads are often regarded as a more advanced and potentially aggressive treatment option, which may influence patient decision‐making and account for the smaller group of threads‐treated individuals. Nonsurgical rhinoplasty with hyaluronic acid (HA) has gained popularity due to its efficacy and minimal downtime. From a structural standpoint, it is like performing a tridimensional reshaping where only enhancement by grafts is allowed.
This systematic review was conducted in accordance with PRISMA guidelines and was registered in PROSPERO. The literature retrieval was conducted by three independent reviewers, and the remaining articles were screened by two independent reviewers. The quality of included articles was assessed using the MINORS and methodological quality and synthesis of case series and case reports tools. A systematic electronic literature search using keywords and MESH search terms over the PubMed/Medline, Cochrane Central, Embase, Web of Science, and CNKI online databases was conducted from 2000 to 2024. Concurrently, regulatory bodies such as the FDA and WHO are developing standardized testing protocols for AI‐enabled devices, balancing against rapid innovation and stringent regulation [66].
More than one modality of treatment might have been used in conjunction with non-surgical rhinoplasty.
