Early Start Kindergarten is available in all kindergarten programs led by a kindergarten teacher. The number of hours on offer from services will depend on factors such as available workforce, infrastructure capacity and community preferences.

The below table shows the year the Queensland government recommends your child attends kindergarten. You can wait list your child at a C&K kindergarten up to 4 years in advance. Enrolment offers are made between May and July the year before your child attends.
Our Preschool Program at Happy Nest Daycare prepares children for kindergarten with a mix of structured learning and play-based activities. Early Start Kindergarten (ESK) provides eligible 3-year-old children with 15 hours of free or low-cost kindergarten each week. To be eligible for ESK, children must be from a refugee or asylum seeker background, identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait islander and/or be from a family who has had contact with Child Protection. Most children's education and care services will have a National Quality Standard (NQS) rating.
